The transmission builder Dustin is a crook and ripped me off at his last shop built me a trans and it wouldnt evan make it home. Kept my truck for 6 months after that supposedly built another trans for it and same thing wouldnt make it the hour drive home. Then he wouldnt make it right. Hes a crook and wont stand behind his work I ended up having almost 8000 in my transmission afyer I was done because I paid for it twice

Transmission or drivetrain issue? Dont waste your time elsewhere. This guy knows his stuff. Drivetrain repairs are never cheap, but I was thrilled to pay Dustin for a new driveshaft after a local mechanic shop gave me a $8000 quote for a new transmission-which was NOT the problem. He very quickly diagnosed me properly and got the correct repairs done.

Red their reviews and had very positive reviews. I take my vehicle there actually had my daughter. Take it there and it was for transmission service. My transmission took a dump. I read the reviews as the reason why I came to this shop, which was a mistake. Good reviews. I wonder how many of them were from their employees probably. All of them, but I took my dodge 1500 series up to them had a toad, and they said it would be a week to two weeks. Well, five weeks later I get my vehicle back. They sent pictures on their website that are no longer available to see of the vehicle before they towed it or pushed it. However, they did it into their garage. I have a Bush guard on the front of it that is completely undusable. Now because they yanked on it, towed it or whatever called them about it. First Words out their mouth was was you here. When the tow truck driver dropped it off. But once again, we had pictures of it before it was put into the shop. Luckily, we have one picture of it. Other property that they took before it was put into the shop. And we got pictures of when it was at my house. They ran a diagnostics on my vehicle told me. I had problems here problems. There problems here problems there and the only thing I wanted them to work on was my transmission. Well, they gave me a bill, not an estimate. I paid the bill and when I got the truck back, something was wrong with it. Once they started and we confronted them about the brush guard. Well, they perceive to tell me that they had to order a part that they didn't tell me about. And the day that they didn't not charge me. Well, one of the people did not charge me. But somebody said that I owe them $300 for a part that they supposedly had to get, that didn't come into transmission, rebuilt kit. So we gotta hold of them again, because the truck would not stay started. They said we needed the battery because our battery was dead. Never had a problem with that vehicle till we took it to that garage. And now, I had all kinds of problems with it. Well, we finally took it back up to them to see if they can get at what the problem was. They found the problem, they fixed it. And they were still crying about $300 part that we didn't pay for by once again. I didn't give her permission to get that $300 part. They didn't tell me until after the work was done. That there was a $300 part that nothing nothing at all, until we mentioned that they messed up my brush guard, then they're like, well, it's $300. Well, my brush guard costs roughly around $300. That's not including the labor to take it off now. And put a new one back on, but I made a deal with them axiom. My daughter did, and once my truck was finished. These people wrote a note and left it in my vehicle. Telling me they will not work on my vehicle again. What kind of honest down-to-earth garage would do something like that? Anybody can tell me, I'll probably get some slack. Because of this negative comment, but I have never, in my 58 years on this Earth. Ever heard of a company put a note inside of a person's car? Tell them they will never work on the vehicle again. Unless it's warranty work, nor have I ever had the fact that them trying to put the blame on somebody else besides themselves to make themselves look good. My recommendation, find somebody else I'm not affiliated with these people. I just read the reviews which I do believe was fabricated by their employees. But when I was told two weeks most time you would get it, but they had my vehicle for five weeks did not offer a loaner. Nope, did not offer us a loner car. Ignoring the phone calls, and then at the end of everything else wanted. No, if my daughter paid the bill to have a fixed. A second time which it was, and then they leave a note telling us that they would not work on our vehicle again unless it's warranty work

I am a wound care nurse practitioner and I travel across Ohio for work. I was out of town and my brakes started grinding. I was beside myself as it was only Tuesday and I was traveling the rest of the week. Apex was there for me and went above and beyond what I would have ever imagined. It was late in the day and this gentleman had plans but he skipped his plans and worked well after closing to fix my truck. He also filled my truck up with gas because it was empty. His mother gave me a ride to my hotel while work was being done. He also rotated my tires. This company is family owned and I truly was so blessed to be able to have found them. This was my first visit to Apex, the shop was recommended through repair pal. I brought in my 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander for routine maintenance on the transmission. I highly recommend these guys, they were fast, professional, and did a great job! My splash shield was missing fasteners and they installed some. Will be going back to them soon! Thanks guys!

Preface this with had work done 2 weeks ago at another shop and "had an inspection done" was told nothing serious was wrong with me care. Made an appointment online for brakes and rotors. Called me same day to confirm appointment. Came in for appointment and they did an actual full inspection with pictures. And the amount of work that actually needed done was ridiculous. Dustin went over the inspection with me and we prioritized what needed done for safety reasons and what cld wait a little bit of time. Had me in and out in a timely manner with no issues.

I had a great experience with Apex Complete Auto Care! I originally brought my vehicle in to have the brakes repaired, and during the process we found out it also needed a new transmission control module. What really impressed me was that Apex had the proper diagnostic and programming equipment to install and program the new module right there at the shop instead of having to send my vehicle to the dealership. The staff was amazing throughout the entire process—friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. Their waiting room was also very clean, comfortable, and actually nice to sit in while waiting. It’s great to find a local repair shop that has the equipment and knowledge to handle more advanced repairs and programming in-house. I would definitely recommend Apex Complete Auto Care and will be using them again!

I have had a great experience with two rounds of repairs the guys at apex removed and replaced a transmission, did brake lines, and suspension work on a truck for me and have done everything I asked them to right. Dustin was great about communicating, answering questions about costs, I felt like he was honest with me, did good work and charged a fair price, all things considered. He’s higher than other shops, but he does good work, and his confidence in that is reflected in the incomparable warranty he offers. If you want good work and you’re not an unreasonable miser, I highly recommend apex auto.

Dustin and his team at Apex Transmission and Auto are amazing! I had purchased a 2013 GMC Sierra 1500 around May of 2025, it seemed to run perfectly fine the first few months driving it, then around September/October 2025 I started having really weird issues when going into 3-5 gears, it just made this wonky heavy breathing sound as i called it. I was referred to Dustin (Apex Transmission in Urbana) by another family/friend who had their transmission R&Rd before and immediately upon contacting Dustin we were able to come up with a game plan on how to diagnose what the possible issue could be and what to do from there. I am a single mom of one on a fixed income/paychecks (let’s be honest who can afford to drop thousands on any auto repairs spontaneously these days). Dustin was able to get me in to be serviced quickly, come up with a payment plan AND kept in constant communication regarding the deadline in which my transmission would be repaired. He was extremely professional the entire exchange and made sure I was aware of everything going on in regards to my truck. Fast forward 8ish months from completing the R&R and she’s still running perfectly. Turns out whoever worked the engine swap from a Yukon completely messed up making sure transmission/engine connection was working. Huge huge huge thank you to Dustin and his team for everything they did for my little family to keep me up and running. 🙏🏼 I highly recommend him and his business.

Apex rebuilt a Dodge 62TE transmission for me several weeks ago. I've waited to write a review until after nearly 2,000 miles of hard driving on the vehicle. I have zero complaints about the quality of work or the components used to complete the job. Dustin and his team were great to work with. They kept me in the loop with periodic updates on the status of the job, as I had allowed plenty of extra time for them to fit the rebuild into their busy schedule. The pricing for the type of work performed was well within the parameters of "fair" for the customer (me) and the shop. I highly recommend Apex Transmission and plan to use their services again in the coming months on a different vehicle.

Dustin's work is of the highest caliber. He is fairly priced and an expert at his trade. My 2003 Suburban stuttered back into town from a long trip with a slipping transmission and no reverse. It now drives like a new car. I cannot recommend this shop more highly.

I found Dustin by chance online and after doing a little digging sent a message with some questions about my car. I had it at another facility for some other repairs and to have them look at my transmission. They told me I would need a new one with a ticket of almost 9K. I started to review other options for rebuild. After some correspondence around my personal needs as our suburban is our primary vehicle for our 7 person family. I got a quote that was reasonable for what I needed and perfect for my schedule. I can say the Suburban runs as good if not better than when we purchased it. From the first contact all the way though service and the much apricated follow up call the next day I can say Dustin is the only choice for service. I just wish I was closer than an hour and a half away!

Dustin and Apex Transmission completed a complete custom build of my 2008 68RFE transmission. This is running better than the truck did new. Prior to Dustin completing the rebuild it had been to 3 different dealerships and 2 other transmission shops. Dustin pulled, rebuilt and installed the transmission. I am very happy with the build and would recommend Dustin and Apex transmission.

Brought my 2017 silverado in after having multiple issues with the torque converter. Dustin put a built one in for me. It is like driving a new truck now. I highly recommend going to him for any transmission issue you may have.
